Origami
Hearts
Skill Level: Begineers to Intermediate There are altogether 84 models with hearts as a theme. Is this value for money or it is value for money? Without doubt, this is an excellent book of very high quality. Your origami library will be missing something if this book is not among the collection. My favourite is the Heart Ring. Another one of my favourite is not in this book but the instructions for it can be found on my main origami page (see link below). Francis Ow has many creations
to his credit. This book represents only a small portion of this creations.

Jurassic
Origami
Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced I like dinosaurs. This book by another Singapore creator has the following models: Tyrannosaurus, Compsognathus, Diplodocus, Apatosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Allosaurus, Megalosaurus, Deinonychus, Coelophysis, Velociraptor, Brachiosaurus, Camarasaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Saurolophus, Parasaurolophus, Lambeosaurus, Iguanodon, Stegoceras, Pterandon and Dimetrodon. There is a dinosaur base. The
models are usually made up of two pieces. As one of my friend commented,
the dinosaurs in this book is anatomically correct. If you like dinosaurs,
this is a really good book. Note that nowadays, the fashion is not to fold
dinosaurs in flesh but to fold their bones.

Brilliant
Origami : A Collection of Original Designs
Skill Level: Simple to Advanced I have been a fan of creations of Dave Brill for a very, very long time. Long before this book, long before I met him in person. I get to try out his creations via many sources. There are over 80 models in this book for you to try out covering the various aspects of origami like modular origami, animal origami, geometric origami and others. Theories are also being discussed. These include Thoughts on Diagramming, Modular Theories, Wet Folding Techniques, Square vs Equilateral Triangle, Rules Traditional and Personal and Ideas for Creative Approach. All these makes the book well rounded and covering the latest techniques and ideas. Animals and human figures found in this book is really fantastic. If you are lucky enough to find this book in a book store, flip through it, make sure you look at the coloured photos. You will be amaze. I have many favourites in this book. I am still folding the horse which starts from an equilateral triangle. It is one of the liveliest origami horse around, either jumping or running, unlike other origami horses which are rather sedate. There are also other fantastic models such as lion, lioness, elephant, just to single out a few. Dave's modular origami is equally fantastic. Quite a challenge. A number of creations start from the silver triangle, that is, the A4 or A5 or A6 dimension, that is, the ratio of one side to the other is root 2. I would recommend this book
to anyone, after all it is Dave Brill-iant Origami.

Wreaths and Rings
Skill Level: Simple I wonder why David Petty chose such a morbid sounding name for his book. The models in this book once folded and constructed look very pretty. Even the ones which are termed wreaths can in fact be identified as modular rings. With the colour correctly chosen, the completed model is very attractive. Perhaps, Zena, the warrior princess can use one of Petty's design as her weapon. This book is divided up into:
Look at the graphic and judge
for yourself.
