Every since I set up webpages on Chinese lanterns, I have received numerous requests for lanterns that is simple to construct. Most of these requests came from teachers who teaches crafts to kids and find the ones I put up too difficult to teach.
So with that in mind, I started to create some simple lanterns. Below are a few lanterns designed for kids. If even these are too difficult then perhaps making these lanterns should be aimed at much older kids.
To construct any of these, just click the picture. Some of the designs are completed with the required accessories to show what can the done and how a simple design can be very attractive. Others are left incomplete without accessories, only the instructions on how to construct is shown.
I will add more when I work
out more simpler designs.

TIPS and ADVICE for Teachers
1. Practise on at least one before you teach your students. The experience gained and knowledge of difficult steps will enable you to anticipate the difficulties that will be faced by your students.
2. The method of constructing the lanterns is only a suggested method. It may not suit you. You may find an easier method. That is why you should try one first.
3. Different hongbaos have different size and shape. Ratio of sides may be different. This will cause the final lantern to look different.
4. Accessories are usually necessary. This does not mean the more the better. If you are teaching students, then use the minimum. Accessories are usually added before you stapled or taped the last one together, so watch out for this, otherwise, you may need to dismantle some part in order to add in the accessories.
5. When you have tried the lanterns above, check out the more detailed ones. You may find them easier now. It is also possible to make some of those lanterns by omitting or using less. Improvise.
